Private Training

Amy specialises in private, one on one training and behaviour modification in the comfort of your own home or local park in the Perth metro area.

After reading your intake form, a discussion with you and observing your dogs’ behaviour, Amy will form a step by step training plan with you to reach your behavioural goals, and “train” you on how to guide your beloved pet through this process!

Amy works to break down steps and make things as simple and easy to understand as possible, providing written homework with each session. To help you get the most out of her services and save money as well, package options are also available. You don’t have to commit to one until the end of your first session if you prefer – these are simply a way to maximise your experience and save on $$ too.

Finally, for those with slim amounts of time on their hands, when booking multiple sessions Amy also offers training walks after the first session; in which she works exclusively with your dog for a set amount of time and simply reports back with  maintenance instructions and homework for you – you do not need to be present for these sessions!

Note – while Amy is there to help 100%, your own commitment (and that of everyone sharing your household) is imperative for your dogs’ long-term success and happiness. Consistency is paramount!

Amy Does Not Help With:

  • Severe human and dog-directed aggression
  • Prescribing medication: Amy encourages consultation of vets or vet behaviourists while working with her, however she is not a vet herself.
  • “Fixing” a dog overnight, or without any effort from you: Amy works with owners to give them the knowledge and tools to achieve their long term goals. Amy will always demonstrate and explain techniques, but in the end you carry the torch.
  • Severe separation anxiety without a vet behaviourist also involved
  • Working for free: Happy Dogs is a small business with bills to pay, and cannot dispense free advice beyond the existing public resources. Long phone conversations about your issue before you have booked or paid for services is not a sound business model. However, once you have booked and paid for her services, intake forms encourage thorough background information, and package deals include lots of ongoing communication and support between sessions, and after they are completed.
